The Muletto was created on a Saturday night when I had somewhere to be and the shoes that matched my pants perfectly were mules. Four inch mules, in the perfect shade of blue to match my radical wide-leg, low wasted pants. But, they were mules. I, being a singer performer type, need my shoes to stay on my feet when I am presenting myself to industry folk, as I was that night. So how was I going to get my shoes to stay on my feet and not get my pants caught on my foot every time I walk?

And the Muletto was born
(I just didn't know it yet)

I thought about gluing my foot to the bottom of the shoe, but it seemed painful.

I tried taping my foot to the shoe, but it didn't stay.

In my closet, next to the shoes, are my hair accessories. In a panic I started to tie the shoe onto my foot. After stretching and twisting my poor headband around and around, I stood up and walked across the room. OH MY GOD!!!!! The shoe stayed on my foot, the pants didn't get caught in between my heel and the shoe, and I could dance on command without fear of my shoe falling off. I was so stoked. And off I went to have my meeting with the industry gurus.

When I got home, as I was getting undressed, I noticed my shoes in the mirror and then I saw it. The Muletto. A way to transform my shoes to be whatever I need in that moment. The headband, although bulky and strange, looked so cool. I thought, I could make all colors and different fabrics to allow the Muletto to be hidden under pants, and or shown off as a shoe accessory to accentuate an existing pair of shoes.

Oh, by the way, the meeting was not all that I hoped it would be in regards to my singing career, but the creation of the Muletto made it well worth my while.

I hope this accessory can be functional as well as beautiful for you.

I hope, because of the Muletto, we can all have the foot wear options of Imelda Marcos, without having to spend the money or build the storage space.
